Lesson for the police: Look, but don't touch.

One of Corvallis' finest resigned from his position with the Corvallis Police Department today, apparently in an effort to avoid the internal affairs investigation he was undergoing while on administrative leave.

It seems that Ryan Thayer, 25-year-old husband and father, was one of several police officers who busted a party on campus that consisted of young, nubile coeds clad only in lingerie. These officers somehow ended up in several My Space photos with the girls later on, and I'd be willing to bet (although cannot currently verify) that no noise ordinance violations were cited at this particular party.

Officer Thayer apparently liked what he saw, because he then conducted an affair with an OSU student, arranging trysts while he was on duty protecting Corvallis citizens. Now that he has resigned from the force, the investigation has been discontinued, but I still sort of hope that his wife kicks his ass.

  • How on earth are we to fully understand the implications of this news item without pictures of the lingerie-clad participants?!?

  • Maybe my english is limited... exchanging TRYSTS?

Hey, come to Iovino's Open mic tonight, starting at 9:30. $2 pints, poetry, music... and you could perform as well.

    Tonight meaning WED.

Back to the cop though... I went to myspace and didn't see these photos.

  • Just because he quit, the investigation's over? That doesn't seem right. Will he give back some of the salary he earned while he was having an affair on duty? His poor family. Having something like that happen is awful enough, but to have it all happen publically is unimaginable.

  • I said "arranging" trysts, not exchanging. ;)

  • I agree with "the montclairist"...pictures, dammit!

I have a friend who is a cop. He burned through 2 marriages (during his 20s). He didn't realize at the time that he didn't have to act upon every impulse or excitably enamored young lady that he came into contact with, while on duty.

He's a good husband and father, now that he's in his late-30s. He calmed down and matured. Of course, internal affairs investigations, peer pressure, and multiple child support payments probably helped him mature, somewhat.

  • I was there. It was like 60 guys in boxers and about 10-15 girls if i rember right. When i drove up there were guys running around in there boxers, like groups of 5-8 everywhere. Sure enough there were cop cars all over the place chasing the guys round. So i walk into my buddys house(same backyard as the party) and there is a scantly clad freshman there drunk passign out on the couch. I go to the back and there were two cops gaurding the back door betweent the houses. ABout an hour later when all my buddys show up I find out about the pics. Only one person posted them online. They didnt look that good, but since it was the neibors party they were sweet! The house got a few thousand dollar fine for hosting a party with minors consuming or somthing. NOt worth it in my opinion.

  • Honestly you have no idea what you are talking about three was no relationship and the photos were just random pics not posed for. There was a huge fine given to the house as well.
